Advanced Training Programs
I use various approaches to make all my lessons as engaging and interesting as possible, by
1. working with the advanced students to strengthen their weak joints, fingers, and etc.,
2. pulling out relevant examples to use as exercises, so my student would remember it longer,
3. instead of asking the advanced students to practice or warm up with traditional/ standard scales, arpeggios, cadences, and whatnots, challenging them to come up with their own exercises of the passages from masterpieces,
4. working on the student’s awareness of what is needed to be done, and engaging them to do what's needed while they’re playing.
5. looking at the theory aspect of music and analyzing some passages/ sections,
6. constantly monitoring their hand and finger positions, and postures,
7. stressing on how they can practice more effectively and efficiently and offering tips,
8. offering tips for learning their repertoire and establishing the literature,
9. and many more...
All of the above-mentioned approaches would help the advanced students:
improve much of their techniques in advancing virtuosic playing,
practice with the correct techniques and help them avoid tension or injury,
prevent practicing the wrong notes,
achieve challenging parts easier,
enhance tone production and mental practice,
being observant with mindful playing,
and many more...
